BHS PICTURE HOUSE · UPDATED 15 OCTOBER 2026

Your privacy.

This notice explains how British Horror Studio handles information when you visit the Picture House, sign up for email updates or contact us. For privacy questions, write to support@britishhorrorstudio.com.

Our magazine and email updates

With your consent, we use your email address to send our free quarterly film magazine and occasional film announcements, Kickstarter news and special offers. You choose to join and confirm your address through an email link. Brevo manages the form, contact records and email delivery. Records can include your email address, consent and confirmation, subscription preferences and delivery information. Email reports may record opens and link clicks.

Unsubscribe using the link in any marketing email, or contact us. Joining the mailing list is separate from Patreon membership or buying a film. Writing to us does not subscribe you.

Contacting us

When you email us, we receive your address, your name if supplied, your message and attachments. We use these to answer your enquiry and keep relevant records, relying on our legitimate interest in running the studio and providing support. Correspondence is handled through Google Workspace.

Cinema booking applications

Hex Media Limited handles BHS Picture House cinema booking enquiries and related invoices. For booking applications, Hex Media Limited is responsible for deciding how your information is used. Contact info@britishhorrorstudio.com about a booking, or support@britishhorrorstudio.com about your personal information.

You can enter and review your details before choosing to send your application. Applying does not subscribe you to marketing. Please avoid entering sensitive personal information in the message field.

We use your organisation and charity details, contact name and role, business email and telephone number, venue addresses, proposed programme and message to assess the enquiry, correspond with you, and arrange approved screenings, delivery, reporting and invoicing. We rely on our legitimate interests in handling business enquiries and administering film distribution, and on legal obligations where records must be retained for accounting or tax purposes. Required fields provide the information needed to assess your request; we cannot process an application without those details.

Cloudflare processes submitted form details through our booking email service, and Brevo processes application and acknowledgement emails on our behalf. The studio staff handling bookings will receive the enquiry through our Google Workspace email service. Booking details will not be added to our marketing lists merely because you apply. We also use limited technical information, such as a hashed network identifier and temporary form tokens, to prevent abuse.

We keep booking correspondence while needed to resolve the enquiry and administer any agreed screenings, invoices, disputes and applicable accounting or tax obligations. We review records when the enquiry or booking has closed and remove information that is no longer needed. The rights and international-processing information below also apply to booking enquiries.

Website services and video

This website is hosted through OpenAI Sites. Hosting services process technical information, such as IP addresses, browser details, pages requested and request times, to deliver and protect the website. We rely on our legitimate interest in keeping the site available and secure.

Our signup form loads resources from Brevo. Opening the trailer loads a YouTube player using its privacy-enhanced domain; YouTube then receives connection information and may use cookies or similar technologies when you interact with its player. The player is not loaded before you choose to open it. We have not added advertising trackers to these pages.

Ticket purchases, Patreon membership, shopping and social links take you to separate services with their own privacy arrangements. Provider information: Cloudflare, Brevo, Google and OpenAI. Some providers process information outside the UK under the safeguards set out in their terms.

How long information is kept

We keep mailing-list information while your subscription is active. After you unsubscribe, a record of your choice and consent may be kept to prevent further unwanted messages and demonstrate your preferences. Correspondence is kept as needed to deal with enquiries and relevant complaints or claims. Technical and delivery records follow the providers’ retention arrangements. Contact us to ask about a particular record.

Your choices and rights

Depending on the circumstances, you can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction or a portable copy of your information, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdraw marketing consent at any time. Write to support@britishhorrorstudio.com. You can also raise a concern with the Information Commissioner’s Office.
